Colour Challenge #02

Happy Sunday everyone!!

It’s rainy and cold here in Canberra today, surely not a sign of the soon-to-arrive Spring season? In my last post, I set a colour challenge to you all using my favourite Stampin’ Up Colour combo, shown below.

Colour challenge 01-001

Time got away from me and then it was time for me to run in my VERY FIRST City to Surf Run in Sydney. When we got back, I was so exhausted from my big day that I didn’t get to update my design for this challenge. Here it is …

I really wanted to have a play with my new Little Letters Thinlits dies, from the NEW Annual Catalogue. Thank goodness I have also recently purchased the amazing magnetic platform for my Big Shot, it made this project so simple to create (although I’ve now noticed the F is the teeniest bit wonky). You can use Thinlits, Framelits and Edgelits with your Multipurpose Platform (included in your Big Shot purchase) but using the Magnetic Platform supports you to keep these magnetic dies in place. I’m looking forward to playing some more with these cute little letters. I can see they’ll work beautifully for the projects I plan to work on at Crop night. Are you coming along to create with me?!!!

Crop night will take place on Friday the 29th of August, from 7-10pm @ the Isabella Plains Neighbourhood house.

This event is focused on social crafting rather than targeted technique teaching, like my other classes. You are all welcome to bring along anything you are working on, paper craft or otherwise. I’ll be bringing along a little scrapbooking as well as cards. If you have unfinished cards from the recent Stamp Camp, you are more than welcome to bring them along to finish off with my products.

Your $15 registration fee includes access to my Big Shot Die cutting machines and non-consumable products (punches, big shot dies and Framelits, embossing folders). You will also receive basic instructions for a Christmas make and take project, featuring products from the BRAND NEW Holiday Catalogue… Which you will get your very own copy of on the night.
The rest of the evening will be all yours, to chat and craft as you wish. Email me at to book your spot.

Now for this fortnights colour challenge, my 2nd favourite colour combination – featured in the brand new gorgeous Moonlight Designer Series Paper stack. We used this colour combination for some of our projects at Stamp Camp.

Framelits aplenty

Good evening all!!
I hope you are all having a fabulous week wherever you are. It has been particularly fresh for a Canberra Winter here in Australia’s capital. I heard today that the past two days in Canberra have been the coldest on record for this time of year since the mid 1800’s. I would definitely say they were the coldest of my lifetime.

The weekly deals for this week are just a teeny bit exciting, especially when I tell you about the Big Shot bundle available to you though to the end of this month.

Imagine spending just $185.00 (AUS plus shipping) to receive your very own Stampin’ Up Big Shot die cutting machine + your choice of stamp and coordinating framelit bundle* AND the gorgeous Labels Collection Framelits. So much paper crafty goodness!!! If you click on either of the weekly deal image below, they will take you directly to my online store where you can take advantage of these awesome deals. The items displayed in the photo below are available until next Tuesday the 12th of August, but the grander Big Shot deal is available through until the end of August.

Attendee bags and MDS fun

Happy Sunday to you all!! I’d love to hear what you got up to this weekend… Were you crafting? Did you spend time with your family or catch up with friends?
I spent most of the weekend on my own, with one of our fur babies Banjo while Josh visited his parents farm with our other baby Bindi. This is actually is one of my favourite things to do, be on my own. It helps me to centre myself after a busy week, and gather my thoughts for the week ahead. But this weekend was even more important because I set myself up in my craft room and set to work on the attendee bags for next weekends STAMP CAMP. I am so pleased with how they’ve come together and excited that I was able to incorporate each ladies prize patrol in the designs. Yay!!

Here is a sneak peak of something else I created for next weekends event.

The other part of my creating this weekend was done using our digital software – Stampin’ Up’s My Digital Studio. I love this software!! The more I use it, the more versatility I see in it. I wanted to create something that showcases the delicious colours in the Stampin’ Up range. Which is your favourite colour family?

In Color display-001

Next week I will unveil my favourite colour combination – I bet some of you already know what will make the cut.

Have a wonderful week,

X Banjo and me

Happy weekend to you!!

Today I want to share with you two projects I have been working on, for our teams first blog hop. Weeee!!! I am so excited to be participating in such a fun, (paper crafty) community focussed event.

Eureka Stampers Blog Hop image

But first lets rewind …. what on Earth is a ‘blog hop’?

A blog hop (sometimes called a link up) allows followers/reader to visit a selection of blogs with a similar theme. In our case, the theme is the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue (also including current carry over and specialised product lines). Each participating Stampin’ Up Demonstrator is from our broader team of Eureka Stampers. We spread far and wide across Australia, and keep in touch regularly with each other via our Facebook group, at Stampin’ Up events and through other various social networking sites. I love that our team are so active, that we all have our own unique styles and that we are all ‘doing’ Stampin’ Up our own way.

How do I participate in the Eureka Stampers Blog hop? It’s easy, just follow along by clicking the blog image at the top and/or bottom of this post. It will take you to the blog before or after mine, in our team list. You can also visit other blogs, out of sequence, from the complete list at the bottom of this post. When you find blogs you enjoy ‘follow them’ and try to leave a thoughtful comment on the post or their blog in general, and then let them know you are stopping by from the blog hop.

So, without further delay here are my two projects.

The first project is a super cute desk organiser, for all those cards and envelopes with a similar theme. I found the tutorial for this project at one of my favourite blogs Inking Idaho by the wonderful Becky Roberts. I just loved how simple the tutorial was to follow (it included full colour photographs throughout the entire project) and the finished product is such a delight. This was my first real play with the new (and now my favourite) Designer Series Paper ‘Moonlight’. It is sold as a smaller sized 48sheet paper stack, each sheet measuring 11.4 x 16.5cm. I just love that Stampin’ Up! have now released these smaller paper stacks, it makes them much more convenient for my Project Life spreads as well as simplifying my card projects as well. Winning!!!

Ofcourse, once I knew which DSP I wanted to use – I knew I could also then use some of the BRAND NEW IN COLOUR 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. My favourite part about this new ribbon is the different textures it offers on either side of the ribbon. One side gives a slightly ’embossed’ feel while the other feels a little more subtle. During the week I had an email from a customer who had ordered a share of this ribbon in my In Color Ribbon Share (read more about shares here) and she thought they were just gorgeous!! She was feeling excited to make time over the weekend to create some cards herself. Enjoy your ribbon Anna and Mel!

Guests who are attending my Stamp Camp on the 2nd of August, this is your MAJOR project!! SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE!!!

My second project for today is this cute little gift card set using the 2013-2015 In Colors. I’ve loved these five colors from the beginning, they remind me of old vintage kitchenware and delicious sorbet. I wanted to incorporate a little of the ‘old’ and a little of the ‘new’ for this set of cards. Can you spot the ‘new’? Yep, that’s right. I’ve snuck some stampin’ from the BRAND NEW Kinda Eclectic Stamp set – that’s it hiding behind the butterfly! We received this set at our recent South Pacific Stampin’ Up Convention in Melbourne, and truth be told – I wasn’t in love with it then. But… I am really appreciating its flexibility now so you’ll be seeing it a bit of it I’m sure.

One of the things I really adore about Stampin’ Up! products is their colour coordination, in particular I really enjoy that there is card stock, designer series paper PLUS embellishments that all coordinate together. It really supports my other love – monochromatic designs. Anyone else finding themselves making the same design in several colours from the same family?

These gorgeous gift cards are on the Card Buffet Menu for my guests who are attending my Stamp Camp on the 2nd of August. SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE!!!

Now let the hopping begin!!! Clip the blog hop image below to visit the next blog in the Eureka Stampers list of participating. I’ve no doubt Rose will have something exciting up her sleeve to WOW you all with.

Hop along with me

My blog has been a bit unusually quiet this past week as Josh and I road tripped up to the Hunter Valley to visit my sister, her partner and their puppy. Long time followers will remember I journeyed up there during my last school holidays with our Mum, so this was my second trip to visit their new home. Though we didn’t get to my sister until Friday afternoon and had to return on Sunday morning, we had the loveliest time away. On Saturday, the boys both got up early for a day with their fishing rods and the esky. This allowed my sister and I to have a lazy day together; the best kind of day with someone who has my best friend since the day she was born. It sure was lovely to visit nearby Morpeth to stroll the Main Street where I was thrilled to discover a sweet shop (my VERY favourite thing in the World – jelly lollies!!) . We went to lunch at one of their favourite local pubs then spent the afternoon watching movies – the type you can only enjoy watching with your sister or girlfriends. I’m so grateful that they’ve only moved a little way up the highway, it means we can do little weekend trips up as often as we can.
Since we’ve been home, I’ve been busy preparing for two upcoming events – this coming Saturdays Stamp Club (the final of this 6month series) BUT also my very first blog hop which will take place at 9am EST this Saturday the 19th of July 2014. To follow along, be sure to hit ‘follow’ over there on the right side of the webpage, this will ensure my post gets delivered straight to your inbox as it goes live.
This blog hop is organised by other demonstrators in our shared team of Stampin’ Up demonstrators called Eureka Stampers. All demonstrators who are participating will share two projects they have created using current products from the amazing Stampin’ Up offering. At the bottom of each of our posts will be a link to the next persons blog – hence the blog ‘hop’.
I hope you’ll all join me in hopping amongst the participating blogs 🙂

Time is ticking to register for the upcoming STAMP CAMP on Saturday the 2nd of August. I have been able to extend the registration date until next Monday the 21st of July. So…what are you waiting for? A day just for you when you will create 1 major project and 12 mini projects – 9 of these projects will be the same for everyone, 3 of them will be selected by you from my Card Buffet Menu (this will be emailed to you after registration).
With over half the spots now taken, I’m encouraging you to get in touch with me ASAP to organise your spot. Please be creative with your time, if you can’t step away from the family for the entire day, ask me how I can help you to make it happen.

Take care,

Banjo and me

We are memory keepers

All of us are memory keepers, in some form or another. We take pictures on our smartphones, we stick old photos on our fridges, we ‘like’ our friends photos on Facebook. Yep, I’m talking to you!

Whether you are a traditional scrapbooker, a seasoned Project Lifer or somewhere in between those two – you are well on your way to preserving your story for those who follow after you. You have no doubt recorded through images, words and/or ephemera your own story including the details of all the little things that perhaps no one else will ever remember.

But what do you do with those photos that preserves the feeling and the memory you are recalling when you see them?!!

I’m preserving our stories and adventures, our challenges and triumphants using the super easy but oh-so-fun Project Life. It is a memory keeping system that helps me to focus on the important things- documenting the journey we call ‘life’.
The great thing about PL is that you can really use anything in your projects. There is NO SUCH THING as right or wrong in the World of a creative person and certainly not when you are documenting YOUR life.
I have found that, more than any other project/hobby, my Project Life albums are a true representation of my style and I love that!!’

br />

I would love to share some time with each of you, preserving your own and your families memories and stories.

Book yourself a spot in my craft room on the last Sunday afternoon of the month to come along for some ‘me’ time – uninterrupted crafting, sweet treats and access my non-consumable products. Bring your own (BYO) ink, card stock, designer series paper, adhesive and any tools of your own you will need. This is completely your time to work on your own projects, without any projects planned to teach you. I hope you can make this time for yourself and come along.m

Also, here is an update of details for the upcoming, lots-of-fun planned STAMP CAMP.

When: Saturday the 2nd of August 2014 from 10-3pm

Where: Isabella Plains Neighbourhood House, Ellerston Avenue Isabella Plains ACT

What: 1 major project + 12 mini projects (including my very first CARD BUFFET)

You can read more details about Stamp Camp here.

Be sure to email me ASAP at to book your spot, over half the spots are booked already. If you have already registered, keep an eye out in your email inbox for your official registration and card menu for the card buffet.

Hope to see you all soon,
